PURPOSE: A controlling method of a washing machine is provided to prevent a rapid increase of a low current which is supplied to a motor at initial drum motion and secure safety of a washing machine. CONSTITUTION: A controlling method of a washing machine is as follows. A drum is rotated to an opposite direction against a setting direction set in a drum motion. A motor is operated by determining whether a location or an angle of a rotation drum reached to a preset first reference location or a first reference angle. The drum is rotated to the same direction of a setting direction of a drum motion with a maximum value of a current supplied in the motor until a second step is completed. If a location of rotated drum reaches to a second reference location or a second reference angle, a necessary current is supplied for maintaining the set speed of the drum motion. |
