PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rubber composition that improves abrasion resistance and suppresses occurrence of blister without worsening productivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing a rubber composition includes (a) a step of kneading a rubber component with silica and a silane coupling agent to give a kneaded product and (b) a step of irradiating the kneaded product with microwave so as to regulate the surface temperature of the kneaded product at 125-165°C.
