PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jamb of an elevator, simple and easy in an assembling structure of an upper frame and a vertical frame and work. SOLUTION: This jamb of the elevator is provided by connecting the vertical frame 5 and the upper frame 6 by sheet metal bending processing. An engaging hole for receiving an engaging piece 14 is arranged on a main surface 7 of the upper frame, and the engaging piece has a through-part being an extension part integrally extending by continuing in the longitudinal direction from the top edge of the vertical frame and penetrating through the engaging hole in a position inserted into the engaging hole of the upper frame until the main surface of the upper frame contacts with the top edge of the vertical frame, and a projection part projecting from the engaging hole, and the projection part is plastically deformed such as twisting or bending.
