摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce amplitude of a potential applied to a pixel electrode in a configuration where a potential applied to the pixel electrode is changed according to a capacitance potential to set a voltage applied to an electrooptical element. SOLUTION: A sequentially-changed capacitance potential VCOM[m] is supplied to a capacitance potential line 24. A pixel circuit PIX includes a liquid crystal element 50 including a pixel electrode 52 and a common electrode 54, a storage capacity CS between the pixel electrode 52 and the capacitance potential line 24, and a first control switch TC1 between the pixel electrode 52 and a common potential line 22. A common potential LCCOM is supplied to the common electrode 54 and the common potential line 22. A driving circuit 30 supplies a potential to the pixel electrode 52 during a write period H[m], turns the first control switch TC1 OFF during a period including the changing time of the capacitance potential VCOM[m] after the passage of the write period H[m] when a gradation GW is designated, and turns the first control switch TC1 ON during a period including the changing time of the capacitance potential VCOM[m] after the passage of the write period H[m] when a gradation GB is designated.
