<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for reducing misdetection of edge angles and eliminating deterioration by an interpolated image in resolution conversion, based on pixel interpolation. <P>SOLUTION: A resolution conversion apparatus includes an angle detection part for extracting an interpolated peripheral pixel near interpolated notice coordinates and detecting the edge angle and reliability included in the extracted pixel; a diversity detection part for detecting the interpolated notice periphery angles and interpolated notice periphery reliability and detecting diversity which is the number of sorts of interpolated notice periphery angles; a most-frequent angle detection part for detecting a most-frequent angle which is the largest number of angles from among the interpolated notice periphery angles; an angle correction part for correcting the edge angle, by using the diversity and the most-frequent angle to find out a corrected angle; and an operation part for weighting first and second interpolation functions, based on the reliability and calculating the pixel value of the interpolated pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
