PURPOSE:To form lateral striped visual image patterns even in the moving direction of an electrostatic latent image carrier, to detect the width and intervals of the patterns and control the rotating speed of the carrier, and to improve resolution through simple constitution by irradiating even the image absent area of the carrier intermittently with a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 1 from the laser generator of a laser recorder is reflected by a polygon mirror 2 to illuminate a photosensitive body 4 as the electrostatic latent image carrier through a mirror 3, and a latent image is formed uniformly by an electrostatic charger 5 and visualized by a developing device 6, so that the toner image is transferred to transfer paper P by a transfer device 7. Visual images of characters BO are formed in an image effective area with width l, which is equalized to the width of the image ineffective area. Further, even the image ineffective area with width l1 at one end of the photosensitive body 40 is irradiated with the laser beam and visual images whose number corresponds to one surface are formed by one turn of the mirror 2 at intervals (b) to width l0. Then, the width l0 and intervals of the visual image patterns are detected to control the rotation of the photosensitive body. |
