OPTICAL RECEIVER AND METHOD FOR OPTICAL RECEPTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiving unit and method, suppressing optical surge of an optical amplifier.

SOLUTION: The optical receiving unit includes: an optical switch configured to switch between optical transmission channels in an analog manner; a switching speed changing means configured to change a transmission channel switching speed of the optical switch; and the optical amplifier configured to amplify light of the optical switch in a state subsequent to switching of the transmission channel. The optical receiving method includes steps of: changing the transmission channel switching speed of the optical switch; and switching the transmission channel of the optical switch in an analog manner.
