PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate storing container which protects color filter substrates used for sheet glasses or liquid crystal display devices from scuffs and damages and is effective for storage and transportation. SOLUTION: The substrate storing container for storing stacking bodies composed of stacks of several substrates is provided with a supporting base equipped with a supporting surface on which the stacking bodies can be placed with the substrates in a horizontal state, a depressing means which presses and fixes the stacking bodies on the supporting base by applying even pressing force on the entire area of the top surface of the stacking bodies placed on the supporting base, a first cover body installed in a detachable manner in a way that it surrounds the stacking bodies placed on the supporting base, and a second cover body installed in a detachable manner in a way that it surrounds the first cover body.
