PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and accurately determine a slice with a lesion of a multi-slice image and to present it as a recommended slice to be diagnostically read to a reading person. SOLUTION: The image processing method of the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus for performing multi-slice imaging or 3D imaging includes: a step 21 of obtaining the multi-slice image by performing the multi-slice imaging or developing a 3D image for which the 3D imaging is performed into the multi-slice image; a step 22 of extracting the region of interest for all of the multiple slices; a step 23 of determining the presence/absence of a lesion by using characteristics at the normal time of not being a lesion in the region of interest of a T1 value image, a T1ρvalue image or a T2 value image (value image, hereinafter) for all the regions of interest of the extracted value image: and a step 24 of displaying the slice to be diagnostically read as a recommended slice on the basis of the result of determination.
