PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester polymerization catalyst that has excellent catalyst activity, excellent color tone or heat stability, excellent transparency of a molding, few foreign substances, excellent thermal oxidation stability, and little foaming upon polymerization and that provides polyester having Tcc equivalent to the one when using a Ge catalyst and has excellent solid phase polymerization activity; polyester produced using the same; and a method for producing the polyester. SOLUTION: In the polyester polymerization catalyst including an aluminum compound and a phosphorus compound, specific two phosphorus compounds are used at a specific molar ratio as the phosphorus compound.
