<p>Provided are an organic electroluminescence element, which has a large light emitting area and is easily manufactured, and a method for manufacturing such organic electroluminescence element. The organic electroluminescence element is provided with: a first substrate (11) having a first refractive index (n1); a second substrate (12), which is bonded on an upper surface of the first substrate (11) and has a second refractive index (n2) higher than the first refractive index (n1); a plurality of comb-like metal wiring lines (14) which are embedded in the second substrate (12) such that each one side (14a) forms a same flat surface with an upper surface (12a) of the second substrate (12); a transparent electrode (15) formed on the upper surface (12a) of the second substrate (12) and the metal wiring lines (14); an insulating layer (16) formed on a part of the transparent electrode (15) facing the metal wiring lines (14); an organic light emitting layer (17) formed on the transparent electrode (15) having the insulating layer (16) formed thereon; and a metal electrode (18) formed on the organic light emitting layer (17).</p>
