MODULAR COVERING SYSTEM FOR SURFACES

A modular covering system for floors and/or walls, of the type with modular units that can be coupled through interconnection means (11), wherein at least one modular unit (10) comprises a) a base support (12), plate-like, provided with a first face (12C) to face towards the floor (P) or the wall to be covered; b) a slab (14) positioned on the second face (12D) of the base support (12) opposite the first face (12C; c) means (12A', 15) for fixing the slab (14) to the base support (12). The fixing means comprise on the base support (12) at least two opposite side side ridges (12A') for lateral retention of the slab (14) produced in one piece with the support (12). At least one of these two opposite side side ridges (12A') defines a respective undercut (15) for coupling with a corresponding peripheral portion (14A) of the slab (14) in a manner such as to prevent detachment of this slab (14) from the base support (12).
