PURPOSE: A hydraulic power steering apparatus for a vehicle is provided to prevent working fluid from becoming leaked while compensating for a gap in a steering shaft since a packing plate with a groove and an elastic support are coupled between a valve housing and a pinion housing. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic power steering apparatus for a vehicle comprises a valve housing(255), a pinion housing, a packing plate(300) and an elastic support. The upper part of the valve housing is connected to a steering shaft, and an input shaft for transferring steering force is inserted into the valve housing. The working fluid flows into/out of the valve housing. The pinion housing is coupled to the lower part of the valve housing so that the pinion shaft coupled to the input shaft is installed in. The packing plate comprises a packing member(310) and support plates(305). The packing member is inserted between the support plates. A through-hole(315), through which the pinion shaft passes, is installed on the central part of the packing plate.
