<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous three-dimensional tissue repair matrix which is biodegradable. <P>SOLUTION: The matrix has a shape memory, is porous, and is three-dimensionally fixed, and is biodegradable. The matrix has a biopolymer fiber which is insoluble and mineralized and a water-soluble binder which becomes insoluble by crosslinking and is in a compressed condition in the original size, shape, and porosity of the matrix. The matrix (a) introduces the delivery vehicle including the matrix into the site to be treated and (b) releases the matrix from the delivery vehicle, and the matrix returns to the original size, shape, and porosity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
