PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial leather substrate comprising a polyamide fiber having excellent dyeing speed, color fastness, light resistance fastness and heat resistance. SOLUTION: The artificial leather substrate comprises a fiber entangled body essentially consisting of an ultrafine fiber having an average fiber diameter of 0.1-10μm and an elastic polymer in which the ultrafine fiber is composed of polyamide 56 comprised of a pentamethylene adipamide unit, an amino terminal group concentration is 30-100 eq/ton and the amino terminal group concentration and a carboxyl terminal group concentration satisfy relation represented by formula 0.4≤[NH<SB>2</SB>]/([NH<SB>2</SB>]+[COOH])≤0.8 (wherein [NH<SB>2</SB>] is an amino terminal group concentration (eq/ton) of ultrafine fiber; and [COOH] is carboxyl terminal group concentration (eq/ton) of ultrafine fiber).
