<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a public information reception device, capable of even making electronic mail contents known to a person who has a strong feeling for refusing information communication devices and is unable to read electronic mails using a normal communication device. <P>SOLUTION: A public information reception device 1 includes a voice acquisition means 3b and a voice acquisition means 3b for obtaining voice data and image data from the electronic mail sent as public information; a voice output means 5 and an image display means 6 for reproducing the voice data and the image data; a memory means 4 for storing at least a variety of these data; a reception detection means 3d for detecting the stored data; a reception delay means 7 for displaying the data detection by the reception detection means 3d; and a reproduction button 8a that prevents reading and image displaying, until it goes into an ON state.
