<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit in which uniformity of luminance in a whole display region is improved, a light source technology such as region luminance control is embodied, and a slim device is attained, and a display. <P>SOLUTION: The display includes a display panel, a plurality of light guide plates which emit light to each display region divided from the display panel, and a plurality of light sources which generate light incident into the side face of the respective light guide plates and are arranged so as to correspond to the side face of the light guide plates. The plurality of light sources are arranged so that the first light emitting direction by at least a part of light sources, out of the plurality of light sources arranged so as to correspond to the side face of one light guide plate, may be different from the second light emitting direction by at least a part of the remaining light sources, out of the plurality of light sources arranged so as to correspond to the side face of the one light guide plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
