A spring comprises a pneumatic spring (1), a discharge vessel (2), a compressor (3), a sensor (4) for detecting the difference in pressure between the discharge vessel (2) and the pneumatic spring (1), a discharge valve (7), a sensor (8) for detecting the position of point (C) of the connection between the spring and a vibration receiver in relation to point (A) of the connection between the spring and a vibration source, and a pneumatic pump (9) with an outlet valve (10) and an inlet valve (11). A pipe (5) connects the compressor (3) and the discharge vessel (2). A pipe (6) connects the pneumatic spring (1) and the discharge vessel (2). A pipe (12) connects the inlet valve (11) and a receiving vessel (14). A pipe (13) connects the discharge valve (7) and the receiving vessel (14). The pneumatic spring (1) is additionally connected via pipes (5) and (6) to the discharge vessel (2) and the compressor (3). The pressure difference sensor (4) is connected to the pneumatic spring (1), the discharge vessel (2) and the discharge valve (7). The position sensor (8) is connected to the compressor (3) and the discharge valve (7). The result is that the conditions under which vehicle body vibrations arise as a vehicle passes over vertical irregularities in a road surface are eliminated.
