PURPOSE: A system performing a font type discrimination and a method thereof using a font type discrimination server and network are provided to easily recognize the font type used for a character image. CONSTITUTION: A character image check unit(420) classifies requested character image data into bitmap image data and vector image data. The font type determination of bitmapped image data is requested. A generation unit(450) calculates the number of closed curves and the number of control points. A comparison unit(470) compares the bitmap image data with image data responded from a data request responding unit(350). |
