PURPOSE: An ultraviolet discharge lamp including a coated fluorescent layer is provided to improve the sustain rate of lamp illuminance by coating a fluorescent body on the inner wall of a light emitting body. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting tube(11) is a glass material with transmittance of 80% by a wavelength near 340 nm. Inactive gas for starting and hydrargyrum are injected into a light emitting tube. A pair of discharge electrodes(121,122) are installed in the light emitting tube to face each other. A fluorescent body(18) includes lanthanum powder. The light emitting tube includes sodium oxide.
