Disclosed is a control system for protection against break of the lubricating oil film in bearings of compressors. The system comprises: an electric motor (20) associated to a compressor (21), forming an assembly, the compressor having a bearing covered with a lubricating film; a microprocessor (10); an inverter (2) with a set of switches (SW1-SW6), the inverter modulates a voltage to feed the motor; a voltage observer (30) measuring the voltage at the output of the inverter; and a current observer (40) measuring the current through the set of switches. The microprocessor actuates the set of switches selectively to generate a rotation on the motor-compressor assembly, the compressor having a minimum rotation so that the lubricating film will not break. The microprocessor establishes a bearing-situation variable, the bearing-situation variable having a foreseen maximum value, and raises the rotation of the motor to a value higher than the minimum rotation according to a pre-established relation of the bearing-situation variable, to prevent the breakage of the oil film in the bearing.
