PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a housing having a metallic appearance, which is low-costs and good in yield; and to provide the housing by the method.SOLUTION: The method for making the housing having the metallic appearance comprises a first step S1 of providing a plastic substrate having the structure of the housing to be made; a second step S2 of providing a decorative film; a third step S3 of forming a nonconductive plated coating on a surface of the decorative film, the nonconductive plated coating having a metallic appearance; a fourth step S4 of previously shaping the decorative film where the nonconductive plated layer is formed; a fifth step S5 of cutting the previously shaped decorative film into a shape matching an outer shape of the plastic substrate; and a sixth step S6 of bonding the cut decorative film to the surface of the plastic substrate. |
