The cooker has a fastening device for fastening an inductor carrier at a mounting frame (12). A fastening element (14) is connected with the frame, and a spiral spring is fitted on the fastening element. The spring supports the carrier in a vertically resilient manner, and produces contact pressure by induction heating elements against a cover plate, where the heating elements are arranged on the carrier. A connection between the element and the frame is produced by an engagement of a prolongation (18) formed at the element into a hole (20) in the frame. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an induction cooker.
