PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system which can achieve Short Message Service (SMS) provided in an existing 3G network in the communication system to which a femtocell base station is introduced.SOLUTION: When receiving information relating to the SMS from UE (User Equipment), the femtocell base station (FAP) converts it into an SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) message including the received information relating to the SMS, and transmits the converted SIP message to a core network side. Also, when receiving the SIP message including the information relating to the SMS from the core network side, it converts the information relating to the SMS included in the received SIP message into a message that can be recognized by the UE, and transmits the converted information relating to the SMS to the UE.
