PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter capable of suppressing dependence on polarization and using silicon in GR (Guided Resonance) mode allowing transmission of wavelength of blue in a visible region.SOLUTION: This optical filter includes a periodic structure constituted by arranging a substrate and a plurality of members formed of silicon and arranged on a surface of the substrate periodically to allow transmission of light of first wavelength among light entering the periodic structure in the direction of substrate selectively. The member is two-dimensionally arranged by suppressing a period within a scope of ≥400 nm and ≤500 nm, has such size in the direction parallel with the surface of the member that is within a scope of ≥120 nm and ≤160 nm, and expresses a maximal value of transmission spectrum of the first wavelength in a scope of ≥400 nm and ≤500 nm.
