PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a matrix converter unit without loosing a protecting function against a destruction accident due to an overvoltage in the matrix converter by any kind of accident during operation or resonance of an LC filter mounted for filtering a power supply current.SOLUTION: A compact and inexpensive overvoltage protection device is achieved by using a rectifying diode having both a function to rectify an input current of the matrix converter and a function to rectify its output current while preventing an a power supply from being short-circuited. |
