PURPOSE: A paper sheet treating device and an automatic transaction device thereof are provided to improve the reliability of a withdrawal process and to reliably discharge a paper sheet having bad quality. CONSTITUTION: A carriage state sensor detects the carriage state or damaged degree of a returned paper sheet. A clamp(209,210) pinches a stored paper sheet and discharge it to a user. A controller changes the discharge position of a paper sheet according to the return state or damaged degree of the paper.
