In order to strengthen an accumulator electrode grid having a frame a with vertical and horizontal ribs c, b, additional members d or e are provided and so arranged within the frame that their rate of expansion is greater than that of the frame. The additional members may join a vertical rib c and a horizontal rib b as in Fig. 1, or a horizontal rib b, and the frame a as in Fig. 4 or two points in the same rib as in Fig. 8. One or two supplementary ribs f may be provided between the additional member d and the rest of the grid as in Fig. 7. In all the above arrangements, the sectional area of the additional members d or e is smaller than that of the ribs b, c and the distance spanned by an additional member is greater than the length of the latter. |
