PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bismuth oxide powder by which columnar- and coarse-crystalline bismuth oxide powder adequate for application to an electronic material is easily and inexpensively produced.SOLUTION: The method for producing bismuth oxide powder includes adding an alkali to a bismuth-containing solution and keeping the pH of the solution at ≥13.5, thereby refining bismuth oxide powder having a shape represented by a length of ≥20 μm and an aspect ratio of ≤10.
