PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for laser butt-welding an aluminum member and a copper member capable of securely joining base materials with sufficient joint strength when laser butt-welding the aluminum member and the copper member.SOLUTION: The aluminum member 2 and the copper member 3 are arranged to butt with each other and laser beam 1 is irradiated around a butted part 4 to laser butt-weld the aluminum member 2 and the copper member 3. The laser beam 1 is irradiated in such a way that an irradiation area to the aluminum member 2 becomes larger than that to the copper member 3 in the irradiation region 10 of the laser beam to the aluminum member 2 and the copper member 3.
