PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a home network system, capable of performing overlay display of information regarding the state and the operation of electronic apparatus which is connected to the home network for broadcasting the content, in a video display device.SOLUTION: The home network system 1 is provided with a communications network 3; a home gateway 4 connected to the communications network 3; television sets 5A, 5B connected to the communications network 3, and capable of displaying the broadcast content and data described in a predetermined markup language; and a plurality of pieces of electronic apparatus connected to the communications network 3. The home gateway 4 acquires electronic apparatus information on the state and/or the operation of the electronic apparatus, and transmits the data described in the predetermined markup language including the electronic apparatus information to the television sets 5A, 5B via the communications network 3. The television sets 5A, 5B perform overlay display of the data received from the home gateway 4 to the broadcast content. |
