PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital coherent receiving apparatus for improving communication quality.SOLUTION: The digital coherent receiving apparatus converts a result of detecting signal light and local light from an optical transmission path into a digital signal, to be subjected to digital processing. A waveform distortion compensation circuit 161 compensates waveform distortion of the signal converted into the digital signal. A phase detecting part 512 detects the phase of the signal whose waveform distortion is compensated by the waveform distortion compensation circuit 161. A phase compensator 511 compensates the phase of the signal whose waveform distortion is compensated by the waveform distortion compensation circuit 161 on the basis of the phase detected by the phase detecting part 512.
