PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device wherein it is possible to suppress missteps due to switching of excitation methods during motor driving and motor vibrations, and to provide an electronic device that uses the motor drive device.SOLUTION: A signal generating unit 2 generates control signals DVS of a parallel input method from control signals INS of a clock input method. In the signal generating unit, correlation between the number of pulses of the clock signal CLK and the phase of the torque vector of the motor is held in common for all excitation methods with an excitation method having the greatest number of steps as a reference. The signal generating unit generates a control signal DVS of a parallel input method from a control signal INS of a clock input method, in such a way that when an excitation method is switched, the torque vector of the motor is maintained at the same phase as before switching; when there is no phase identical to the phase before switching, the torque vector is in the closest phase in the rotation direction of the motor; and the torque vector of the motor 4 is thereby controlled. |
