PURPOSE: An arctangent calculation device and a computer readable recording medium thereof are provided to suppress data quantity that a phase angle managing unit manages, thereby miniaturizing the size of a circuit. CONSTITUTION: A phase angle memorizing unit(2) memorizes a phase angle corresponding to a two-dimension vector value in the range of 0 to 22.5 degrees. A vector rotating unit(3) performs vector rotation in the two dimension vector value in the range of 0 to 360 degrees to convert the two dimension vector value in the range of 0 to 22.5 degrees. An arctangent operating unit(4) outputs a phase angle corresponding to the converted two dimension vector value from the phase angle memorizing unit. A phase angle converting unit(5) converts the phase angle into a phase angle in the range of 0 to 360 degrees.
