<p>A seat for transportation (seat for vehicles (1)) comprising a first seat section (seat cushion (10)) movable between an in-use position and a folded position and a second seat section (seat back (20)) movable between the in-use position and the folded position, wherein a drive mechanism starts to move the second seat section to the folded position when the first seat section passes a prescribed intermediate position on the way from the in-use position to the folded position. As one mode, the drive mechanism is provided with a pressing member (torsion springs (13, 23)) for pressing the seat cushion (10) and the seat back (20) from the in-use positions to the folded positions, a lock member (lock arm (42)) for locking the seat back (20) at the in-use position, a lock releasing means (cables (44, 42A)) for releasing the lock by the lock member and starting to move the seat back (20) to the folded position when the seat cushion (10) passes a prescribed intermediate position on the way from an in-use posture to a sprung-up posture.</p> |
