PURPOSE: A touch panel and a driving method thereof are provided to have a photographing function of high resolution while reducing the size of a circuit. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pixels(104) comprises a display element and a photo sensor. An A/D converter receives the first electric potential from the photo sensor. The A/D converter comprises an oscillation circuit and a counter circuit. The oscillation circuit generates the first signal with an oscillation frequency which is determined based on the first potential. The counter circuit generates the second signal with a coefficient value which is determined by the oscillation frequency.
