The embedder (100) has an information inserter (130) for providing input-information representation (110) with a watermark (132) and additional information that is to be inserted to obtain information representation (134). The additional information to be inserted comprises descriptive information describing the embedding of the watermark in the information representation. The embedder provides the input-information representation with the additional information such that the additional information is independent of the watermark inserted in the input-information representation.
