PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of preventing the incorrect detection of the size of recording paper housed in a paper feeding cassette. SOLUTION: The image recording device includes: a paper feeding cassette 11 provided so as to be attachable on and drawable from the device body housing a printer for recording an image on recording paper; a sensor 12 arranged on the device body and having a feeler 21 for detecting whether or not the paper feeding cassette 11 is present and a feeler 23 for detecting the size of the recording paper housed in the paper feeding cassette 11; and a dial arranged on the paper feeding cassette 11 and having a detection surface 44 pressing the feeler 23 projecting from the sensor 12 to insert it into the sensor 12 before a detection surface 42 presses the feeler 21.
