PURPOSE: The evaluation method of the contact area of each gin indenter using the variable of the indentation test. The function evaluated is exhibited as the variable of the indentation test considers the elastic-plastic deformation of material. The property of matter of material is evaluated conveniently without the additional test. CONSTITUTION: The evaluation method of the contact area of each gin indenter is as follows. The maximum rolling depth and final rolling depth are obtained through the indentation test using each gin indenter. The maximum rolling depth and the final rolling depth are assigned for the filter function and the correction function is obtained.
