According to an embodiment of the present invention there is provided a protective garment comprising an outer shell of an abrasion, flame and heat resistant material, a thermal barrier positioned between the outer shell and a wearer of the garment, the thermal barrier including at least one layer of heat and flame resistant insulating material treated with a durable, water-repellent finish, a moisture barrier positioned between the thermal barrier and a wearer of the garment, and a face cloth positioned between the moisture barrier and a wearer of the garment.
