PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for outputting audio signal in a portable terminal are provided to supply a high output audio signal from an external device to a user by outputting a high output amplified audio signal through an ear jack. CONSTITUTION: An earphone terminal(150) connects a terminal(100) to an earphone or an external device(160). A modem(110) senses the connection between the earphone or the external device and the earphone terminal. If the connection is sensed, an amplifier(120) performs high-output amplification of an audio signal according to the control of the modem. The amplifier outputs the amplified audio signal to the external device. |
