PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DAS system for sufficiently protecting the maintainability of cached data and overcoming limits to a known cache coherency solution used in the DAS system. SOLUTION: The DAS system executes a RAID technology in which an external SSD array of a DAS controller in the DAS system is used by the DAS controller as a WB cache memory for performing a WB caching operation. The use of the external SSD array as the WB cache memory makes the DAS system completely cache-coherent without significantly increasing the complexity of the DAS system and without increasing a bandwidth used for performing a caching operation.
