<p>When a user looks at a medium in his/her hand, the user can be informed of whether or not the reading has been successful. Provided are a reading unit (160) for reading identification information (for example, barcode, etc.,) from a medium (20), and an illumination unit (170) for illuminating light onto the medium (20), wherein the illumination unit (170) illuminates different predetermined types of light (for example, different color lights, lights having different projection shapes, etc.) onto the medium (20) between the case that the reading of the identification information has succeeded and the case that the reading has failed, to thereby inform a user (10) whether or not the reading of the identification information has been successful.</p> |
