PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition and a method for treating a painted surface or a glass surface to improve adhesiveness of a urethane adhesive applied to the treated surface thereafter. SOLUTION: A pre-wipe composition contains 0.5-10.0 mass% of an acid including a hydrocarbyl-substituted aromatic sulfonic acid and 90.0-99.5 mass% of a solvent for dissolving the acid. In an adhesion method of the urethane adhesive, the pre-wipe composition is applied to the painted surface or the glass surface, the solvent is evaporated, an uncured urethane sealant is applied to the surface, and then, the urethane sealant is cured.
