<p>The air inlet valve is designed for low parts count and its components are geometrically-simple. The cylinder head (1) includes multiple slots. These are covered internally by a membrane (2) forming the inlet valve through which the air pressure is built-up in the cylinder. Cylinder head construction employs a light alloy, metal foam or ceramic. Variant designs are disclosed for diesel and petrol engines.</p> |
