PURPOSE: An automatic cooling/heating conversion system using a geothermal heat exchanger and a waste heat pump is provided to accomplish desirable stratification in a hot storage tank by maintaining uniform temperature of collected hot water. CONSTITUTION: An automatic cooling/heating conversion system comprises a heat storage tank(40), a cold storage tank(50), a fan coil unit(20), a tube rail(30), a supply line(60), a heat pump(70), a temperature regulating valve, and a geothermal heat exchanger(80). The supply line is equipped with a plurality of directional selecting valves in order to automatically convert hot and cold flow according to the interior condition of a building(10), and one or more temperature regulating valves for maintaining uniform temperature of hot and cold flow returned to the respective heat storage and cold storage tanks. The heat pump supplies heat to the heat storage tank or cold to the cold storage tank. The temperature regulating valve is connected to the heat pump to maintain uniform temperature of the cold and hot water produced by the heat pump. The geothermal heat exchanger is automatically on/off according to the temperature of the heat storage tank in order to selectively perform the supply of heat and the collection of subterranean heat.
