PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out printing up to ends of print paper without causing ink droplets to land on a platen. SOLUTION: Recording regions R of image data are determined in accordance with the type of print paper P. The recording region R is set to exceed the edges of four sides of the corresponding print paper P. Since print paper P4 in FIG. 1 (d) is larger than print paper P1 in FIG. 1 (a), a recording region R4 is set to be larger than a recording region R1. In the order of P1, P2, and P3, the slippage readiness of the print paper P1, P2, and P3 in the sub scanning direction is increased. The length of the recording region R of an image in the sub scanning direction with respect to the corresponding print paper is increased in the order of R1, R2, and R3. When the recording regions are determined in this manner, blank space is not readily formed at the edges of the print paper.
