<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a use efficiency of a memory storing display data used in overdrive processing. <P>SOLUTION: A display driving device 220 for driving a display device 230 stores image display data in a memory 224 after compression 2233 of the same, and generates a previous time frame by expansion 2234 of the read data of the memory. A setting unit 222 divides a display screen 102 of the display device into a first area 105 in the central portion and a second area 106 in the peripheral portion. An overdrive computing part 223 generates overdrive display data in response to a present time frame and the previous time frame, compresses the image display data of the first and second areas 105, 106 at first and second data compressibility ratios R<SB>A</SB>, R<SB>B</SB>of a small value and a large value, and stores the same in the memory 224.
