PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device which suppresses the occurrence of a switch malfunction due to touch non-operation. SOLUTION: The switch device 1 includes: a switch operation member 2b having a switch operation surface 20b; a detection electrode 2c confronting a surface opposite from the touch operation surface 20b of the switch operation member 2b to form first electrostatic capacitive coupling by a touch operation to the touch operation surface 20b; a reference electrode 2d being in parallel with the detection electrode 2c to form second electrostatic capacitive coupling by a touch operation to the touch operation surface 20b; and a control part 5 for comparing first capacitance generated in the detection electrode 2c with second capacitance generated in the reference electrode 2d to perform a determination, and outputting a touch-on or touch-off signal on the basis of the determination result.
