PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital video camera that enables a user to confirm remaining capacity of a battery therein at a glance and prevents power from being consumed each time the user confirms, whereby the digital video camera is easy-to-use for the user. SOLUTION: The remaining capacity of the battery can be always confirmed by means of an indicator, whereby the remaining capacity of the battery can be confirmed without wasting the power and without troubling the user. The display of remaining capacity of the battery is updated in each fixed period during charging, whereby the remaining capacity of the battery can be confirmed without interrupting charging even during charging. The display of the remaining capacity of the battery is updated in each fixed period even while a power source is turned off, whereby the remaining capacity of the battery can be easily confirmed even when using the imaging apparatus again.
